C-TPAT: safe and sound
UTi participates in security programs to deliver minimal disruption to our clients' supply chains as goods move cross-country or around the globe. One of these programs is Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), a voluntary government/private sector initiative to build cooperative relationships that will strengthen and improve global supply chains and U.S. border security. C-TPAT recognizes that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can only provide the highest level of cargo security by close cooperation with each of the companies moving freight. This would include importers, carriers, consolidators, licensed customs brokers and certain manufacturers of the goods in transit. Through C-TPAT, CBP is asking companies to do two things: ensure the integrity of their security practices, and communicate and verify the security guidelines of all of their supply chain trading partners. This transparency enables good business, and UTi does all it can to endorse and enforce C-TPAT compliance.
Supply chain security worldwide
A secure supply chain is critical to safety at home or abroad. For this reason, CBP is seeking a strong anti-terrorism partnership with the trade community through C-TPAT and will work closely with companies whose good business practices maintain supply chain security and compliance with trade laws.

The benefits of security
UTi is C-TPAT certified in two categories (Consolidator and Broker) and can assist you in developing a comprehensive C-TPAT plan and gaining certification by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. C-TPAT offers you an opportunity to play an active role in the war against terrorism that will provide a more secure supply chain for your organization, your trading partners and customers. Beyond this, in certain certified C-TPAT member categories, you'll benefit from a reduction in border delay times; priority or "front-of-the-line" processing for inspections whenever possible; assignment of a C-TPAT Supply Chain Security Specialist (SCSS), who will work with you to validate and enhance security throughout your global supply chain; potential eligibility for CBP Importer Self-Assessment program (ISA) that emphasizes self-policing; and finally, you'll be eligible to attend C-TPAT supply chain security training seminars to benchmark with other C-TPAT participants and help keep your supply chain safe and secure for the future.
