Services that global shippers require

UTi helps keep shipments moving efficiently along your global supply chain as they cross international borders. The services listed here will expedite the customs brokerage process, make sure that documentation is in order, and reduce costs.

Drawback

Drawback is the recovery of the duty paid on imported items that are either exported or destroyed without being used for their intended purpose. There are two basic types of drawback: Unused Drawback and Manufacturing Drawback. Within each of these two types exist alternate methods and rules for filing drawback that can change based on country of export/destruction method, product type, reason for export, and third party purchases. UTi can help you manage this process so the duty is recovered as soon as possible.

Reconciliation

Reconciliation is a process that allows the importer to file entry summaries with customs using the best available information. In this case, there is a mutual understanding that certain elements that remain outstanding, such as the declared value, will be reconciled at a later date when specifics have been determined. UTi can help you file a Reconciliation that provides the final and correct information. It is then liquidated with a single bill or refund, as appropriate.

Post-Entry

Post-entry is any customs entry activity performed after the initial electronic transmission of an entry to obtain release of goods. UTi can help expedite these activities by assisting you with any of the issues that are addressed through post-entry filing:

  • Fines, penalties or sanctions
  • Error or omission
  • Supplemental information letter for refund
  • Supplemental information letter for tender/deposit
  • Formal protests
  • Petitions for remission of mitigation of penalties
  • Judicial review
